In fulfillment of the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (Quality Education).
As part of promoting community awareness and spreading a culture of moderation and tolerance, the Department of Optics Techniques organized an awareness activity that involved distributing educational brochures about the dangers of extremist terrorism and its negative effects on individuals and society.
The activity was carried out by the lecturers Ms. Tamara Nihad Abbas, Ms. Haneen Haider Hussein, and Ms. Reham Safaa Najm, who supervised the preparation and design of the brochures and their distribution to students and college staff.
The brochures included a definition of extremism, its main causes, and its serious impact on security and stability, in addition to outlining prevention methods through promoting a culture of dialogue, respecting others’ opinions, and reinforcing humanitarian and national values.
This activity aims to develop students’ intellectual awareness and strengthen the concepts of moderation and national belonging, contributing to the creation of a safe university environment based on peaceful coexistence and the rejection of all forms of violence.
