The Department of Biology organized an awareness campaign entitled “The Importance of Sustainability in Our Lives”, under the supervision of Lecturer M.M. Ali Kumait Hamad, on Tuesday, 17/2/2026, in the university corridors. The campaign aimed to promote a culture of sustainability and enhance environmental awareness among students by highlighting the importance of adopting positive behaviors that contribute to preserving natural resources and reducing negative environmental impacts. The activity included the distribution of awareness brochures addressing the environmental, economic, and social dimensions of sustainability, along with practical guidance on how to implement sustainability principles in daily life both on and off campus. This initiative comes as part of a series of activities organized by the Department of Biology, reaffirming its role in promoting environmental awareness and strengthening students’ sense of social responsibility, in alignment with sustainable development goals and community service.
