The Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering launched a student campaign under the title #No_to_Extremism, aiming to promote a culture of moderation, reject violence, and reinforce the values of dialogue and tolerance within the university campus and the wider community. The campaign was conducted under the supervision of Lecturer Maryam Ghadeer Abbas and Engineer Hadeer Hussam Hashem, with active participation from students across various colleges and departments.
The campaign is part of the department’s ongoing awareness efforts to educate youth on the dangers of intellectual and behavioral extremism and to strengthen societal responsibility in building a safe and understanding university environment.
The campaign included a series of diverse activities, such as setting up awareness booths across the college, distributing educational brochures emphasizing critical thinking and rejecting hate speech, and organizing open discussion sessions addressing the impact of extremism on individuals and society. Additionally, awareness content was shared via social media platforms to spread positive messages promoting coexistence, respect for differing opinions, and the values of tolerance and moderation among youth.
The campaign witnessed significant engagement from both students and faculty members, contributing to raising societal awareness and encouraging active participation in addressing negative phenomena through knowledge and constructive dialogue.
The campaign activities were carried out within the university campus during the current academic semester as part of the department’s cultural and awareness program, reaffirming its commitment to preparing a conscious and responsible generation.
