The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, chaired an expanded meeting on Wednesday, 18/2/2026, attended by the university’s assistants, college deans and their associates, heads of academic departments, and IT representatives, with wide participation from academic and administrative leaders. The meeting aimed to establish a comprehensive roadmap to strengthen the university’s position as a digitally advanced academic institution aligned with international standards in management and education.
The session included detailed presentations on student information management systems, approved e-learning platforms, and integrated research management tools, with emphasis on launching structured training programs to ensure effective implementation and optimal use of digital systems in supporting the educational process.
Representing the College of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Sami Abdul Hussein Habbana, Head of the Forensic Evidence Department, attended alongside Assistant Lecturer Riam Thaer Ahmed, Department Rapporteur, and Waqar Jaffat Jasim, the department’s website administrator. The department reaffirmed its commitment to implementing modern digital systems in managing student affairs, documenting scientific activities, and regularly updating academic data on the university’s central platforms. A departmental plan was also presented to digitize research databases and graduation projects in alignment with the university’s broader digital transformation strategy.
The meeting further addressed the development of platforms for managing research, scientific activities, laboratories, and electronic workload systems, in addition to continuous enhancement of the university’s official website to strengthen its global digital presence.
The University President praised the collective efforts in developing these software systems and stressed the importance of direct supervision by deans and department heads in executing digital initiatives. He also highlighted the need to adopt artificial intelligence applications in both administration and education, while continuously developing staff capabilities to keep pace with rapid technological advancements.
The wide attendance and active discussions reflected the institution’s strong commitment to achieving a qualitative shift in its digital infrastructure and advancing confidently toward becoming a global smart university.
