Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the Dean of the College of Science, and the Head of the Forensic Evidence Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Sami Abdul Hussein Habbana, the Forensic Evidence Department at the College of Science organized a classroom activity entitled “Simulation of Forensic Expert Report Writing” on Tuesday, 17-2-2026, in the Humanities Building Hall, with the participation of a distinguished group of second-year students.
This activity was part of the College of Science’s strategy to strengthen practical components within the curriculum. The College organized the practical framework of the session, prepared instructional materials and sample forensic report templates, and designed a simulated crime scene scenario to serve as the basis for drafting technical reports. An evaluation mechanism was also established to assess students’ performance based on clarity of description, procedural accuracy, logical sequencing, and professional conclusion writing.
The session was conducted by Assistant Lecturer Raed Jawad Kazem, who provided a detailed explanation of the standard structure of a forensic expert report, including case information documentation, crime scene description, evidence recording, technical analysis, and formulation of final conclusions. He also highlighted common mistakes in report writing and emphasized the importance of accuracy, neutrality, and scientific integrity.
Assistant Professor Dr. Sami Abdul Hussein Habbana stressed the significance of such applied classroom activities in preparing students professionally, noting that mastering forensic report writing is a fundamental competency for any forensic expert, as it represents the official document relied upon by judicial authorities.
The activity witnessed active participation from dozens of second-year students, who engaged in drafting and discussing sample reports during the session, reflecting their commitment to enhancing their practical skills and professional readiness.
Through such initiatives, the College of Science at Al-Mustaqbal University continues to reinforce experiential learning and prepare competent graduates equipped with essential forensic expertise.
