A valuable awareness lecture titled “The Dangers of Extremism and Its Impact on Society” was delivered by Professor Dr. Majid Hamid Majeed as part of cultural and educational activities aimed at promoting community awareness and reinforcing the values of moderation and tolerance.
The lecture addressed the concept of extremism and explored its psychological, social, and intellectual causes, in addition to highlighting its negative effects on individuals, families, and society. It also emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue, acceptance of others, and spreading a culture of moderation to confront radical ideas. Furthermore, the speaker reviewed key preventive strategies that help protect young people from being drawn into extremist rhetoric, stressing the role of educational and media institutions in building sound intellectual awareness.
