The Head of the Department of Anesthesia Technologies, Professor Dr. Ahmed Khudair Al-Himyari, participated as Chair of the Comprehensive Examination Committee for a PhD dissertation submitted by the student Buraq Mahmoud Shakir at the College of Education for Women, University of Kufa. The dissertation was entitled:
“Evaluation of Immune Biomarkers, Oxidative Stress, and Hormonal Indicators Associated with Infertility in Women Infected with Toxoplasmosis in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf Governorate.”
The study examined the impact of infection with Toxoplasma gondii—prevalent among women of reproductive age—on the immune system, enzymatic indicators, and levels of oxidative stress, in addition to hormones related to fertility and the occurrence of pregnancy. It also analyzed the relationship between these variables and the reproductive status of affected women.
The research findings hold significant scientific and practical value, contributing to the efforts of researchers and academics, as well as relevant governmental institutions such as the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Health and Environment, in enhancing health awareness programs and advancing research related to women’s health and fertility.
This participation comes within the framework of the active academic and research role of Mustaqbal University, recognized as the first university in Iraq, and its commitment to supporting scientific research and serving health- and community-related issues.
