Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Furat Hamza Al-Sultani, and the Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence Sciences, Dr. AbdulKadhim AbdulKareem, The Department of Artificial Intelligence Sciences at the College of Science – Al-Mustaqbal University organized a scientific workshop entitled: “Together Against Cancer: Awareness is Our Path to Prevention.” The workshop was delivered by Ms. Samar Hussein Hilal on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, in the presence of a number of department students. The workshop addressed the concept of cancer as one of the chronic diseases that require advanced health awareness. It highlighted its potential causes and risk factors, as well as the importance of adopting healthy lifestyles to reduce the likelihood of developing the disease. Furthermore, the workshop emphasized the significance of early detection and regular medical screenings, and their vital role in increasing recovery rates and minimizing complications. It also reviewed key preventive and awareness strategies that contribute to strengthening health culture within the university community. The workshop aimed to spread health awareness among students, promote a culture of prevention and early detection, and reinforce students’ social responsibility as active contributors to transferring health knowledge to their families and the wider community. This workshop is part of a series of scientific and awareness activities organized by the department in line with the University’s mission of community service and health promotion.
