As part of its efforts to promote community awareness and spread positive values among students, the Anesthesia Techniques Department at Al-Mustaqbal University organized an awareness activity on Wednesday, 18/2/2026, on campus, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Ammar Badri Younis and Assistant Lecturer Ali Qasim Jawad. The activity included distributing educational brochures addressing the different types of extremism and the factors that may lead individuals into the dangers of intellectual extremism in its various forms. The campaign also highlighted the negative impact of extremism on both individuals and society. Students were encouraged to promote awareness among their peers, strengthen a culture of dialogue and tolerance, and adopt responsible and balanced thinking to help prevent the spread of extremist ideas. This campaign was aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, particularly Goal 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, which emphasizes building peaceful societies, reducing violence and extremism, and promoting stability and justice. The initiative aimed to enhance students’ sense of social responsibility and reinforce their active role in addressing societal challenges through education, awareness, and positive engagement, contributing to the development of a safe academic environment and a more cohesive and conscious society.
