The Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries organized an awareness campaign entitled “The Benefits of Fasting,” with the participation of several faculty members and students, as part of efforts to promote health and cultural awareness on campus.
The campaign aimed to highlight the health, spiritual, and social benefits of fasting. Simplified information was presented on the impact of fasting in improving metabolism, regulating blood sugar levels, and enhancing digestive health, in addition to its role in strengthening willpower and promoting human values such as patience and social solidarity.
The campaign included the distribution of awareness brochures and educational meetings with students, during which proper and healthy fasting practices were discussed, along with the importance of following a balanced diet during iftar and suhoor to ensure the maintenance of physical activity and mental focus.
This campaign also contributes to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) Good Health and Well-being, by spreading health culture and raising awareness about the importance of healthy dietary habits, as well as supporting a university environment that prioritizes the health and well-being of its members.
