Under the patronage of His Excellency, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Division, in cooperation with the College of Health and Medical Techniques - Department of Dialysis Kidney Techniques, organized an awareness workshop entitled “The Role of Women in Achieving Justice and Protecting Human Rights” on Sunday, 22 February 2026, with the attendance of a number of students.
The workshop, delivered by Dr. Tuqa Hazem Abdullah and Ms. Tabarak Ahmed Turki, addressed significant themes highlighting the active role of women in consolidating the principles of social justice and promoting a culture of respect for human rights within society. It also emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment across various academic and professional fields, as well as their role in decision-making and positive community engagement.
Furthermore, the workshop included axis entitled Prevention and Protection Pillar , which focused on developing women’s self-protection skills and emergency response capabilities. This was achieved by equipping participants with the necessary knowledge to manage critical situations and outlining the available legal and institutional mechanisms for seeking support and assistance. Enhancing awareness and strengthening sound decision-making abilities were underscored as essential factors in safeguarding women’s dignity and reinforcing their role in building a secure and justice-based society.
The workshop also highlighted the major challenges facing women and explored mechanisms for addressing them through the dissemination of legal awareness and the promotion of equal opportunity principles.
In conclusion, the importance of sustaining such awareness initiatives was emphasized, given their positive impact on fostering a conscious society grounded in justice, equality, and respect for human dignity.
