The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, inaugurated two newly established specialized laboratories at the College of Health and Medical Technologies / Department of Optometry, as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to strengthen practical training and reinforce hands-on learning concepts for students.
The inauguration included the Ocular Prosthetics Laboratory, which focuses on practical training in the field of ocular prostheses, particularly the fabrication of cosmetic artificial eyes. This initiative keeps pace with the latest scientific advancements and contributes to developing students’ technical skills and enhancing their professional competence.
Additionally, the Pediatric Ophthalmology Examination Laboratory was inaugurated. This laboratory is dedicated to training students in clinical examination methods and the early diagnosis of visual disorders in children, emphasizing the importance of prevention and early detection in improving the quality of healthcare and promoting evidence-based practices.
The inauguration ceremony featured practical demonstrations by fourth-year students working with real cases. The University President expressed his pride in the outstanding level of performance demonstrated by the students and commended their high level of skill and professional capability.
The opening of these two laboratories reflects the university leadership’s commitment to advancing the educational environment and modernizing its infrastructure, achieving integration between theoretical knowledge and practical application, and preparing qualified healthcare professionals capable of meeting labor market demands with efficiency and competence.
