As part of the scientific activities of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries, and under the sponsorship of the Continuing Education Unit, a scientific seminar entitled “Sustainable Reservoir Management” was held. The seminar was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Russel Ahmed Hashim, who addressed the scientific and technical foundations of prudent oil field management aimed at achieving the highest production efficiency while preserving natural resources. The seminar aimed to highlight the importance of adopting sustainable strategies in the development and exploitation of oil reservoirs through improving the recovery factor, integrated reservoir data management, applying enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques, and reducing losses and emissions associated with production operations. This seminar aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), which emphasizes ensuring access to reliable and sustainable energy, as well as Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action) through reducing emissions and promoting efficient resource utilization.
