As part of the launch of the National University Championship for Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Applications (NURAI), announced by Al-Mustaqbal University, the College of Science played a central and strategic role in planning, organizing, and supervising this national scientific initiative.
The College of Science was responsible for developing the academic and technical framework of the championship, forming specialized scientific and judging committees, and establishing clear evaluation criteria to ensure transparency, accuracy, and academic integrity. The College also structured the five main tracks of the competition—agricultural, industrial, medical, environmental, and education—in alignment with national development priorities and the needs of Iraqi society, while promoting interdisciplinary collaboration.
The launch event witnessed wide attendance, including a large number of university students, distinguished faculty members from the College of Science, researchers, and student teams interested in robotics and artificial intelligence. This strong presence reflects the academic engagement and the significance of the initiative at the university level.
Key academic figures from within the College of Science assumed major organizational and scientific responsibilities, including supervising team registration procedures, monitoring online project submissions, and delivering guidance workshops on prototype development and applied solution design. Scientific teams within the College also provided technical and advisory support to participating students, helping them transform theoretical knowledge into practical and scalable applications.
The championship aims to enhance Iraqi university students’ skills in artificial intelligence, robotics, and mechatronics, stimulate applied scientific research, and foster teamwork and constructive competition. Through this initiative, the University seeks to prepare innovative graduates capable of competing at both local and international levels.
The initiative aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Quality Education, Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, Sustainable Cities and Communities, and Partnerships for the Goals, reinforcing the University’s role in promoting quality education and sustainable development in Iraq.
Team registration and online project submission will remain open until July 1, 2026, via the official website:
