A scientific committee was formed to supervise the workshop themes, and administrative and technical arrangements were coordinated to ensure its success. The Deanship of the College of Science supported the initiative by providing an appropriate academic environment and encouraging active student participation. The workshop was directly supervised by the Head of the Department, who oversaw the development of the scientific themes focusing on comparative analysis between national and international legislation in addressing extremism, while emphasizing the protection of fundamental rights and freedoms within established legal frameworks. The lecture was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Raed Jawad Kazem, who discussed the legal concepts of extremism, its impact on human rights systems, and the balance between security requirements and civil liberties. He presented comparative examples from different legal systems to enhance students’ analytical understanding. The workshop witnessed wide attendance, including a large number of students from the Department of Forensic Evidence, along with several faculty members from the College of Science, reflecting strong academic interest in contemporary legal issues and their relevance to forensic and judicial practice.
