Awareness Seminar on University Bullying, Its Psychological Effects, and Prevention Methods

The Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering organized an awareness seminar titled “University Bullying, Its Psychological Effects, and Prevention Methods”, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Maryam Ghassan Ghafar and Engineer Hadeer Hossam Hashem, with the participation of faculty members and students. The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the phenomenon of bullying within the university environment and ways to address it. The seminar highlighted the importance of understanding the concept of university bullying and its various forms. Speakers discussed the negative psychological effects that bullying behaviors can have on students’ mental health, including anxiety, depression, decreased academic performance, and feelings of isolation. The speakers also addressed prevention and coping strategies, emphasizing the need to build a safe educational environment based on respect and cooperation among students, activate psychological counseling programs within the university, and encourage students to report any bullying incidents they encounter, contributing to a healthier and safer university environment for all.
