Department of Artificial Intelligence enhances the attendance of the University of the Future with the second place in the Ministerial Information Bank 2026

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Authority, the activities of the 2026 Ministerial Information Bank Competition concluded on Tuesday evening, 24/2/2026. The competition was organized by the Department of Student Activities and hosted by Al-Mustaqbal University as part of its continuous commitment to supporting purposeful student initiatives and strengthening its academic presence across Iraq. The competition witnessed wide participation from (58) public and private universities representing various Iraqi provinces. The event ran from 22–24/2/2026, during which student teams competed through two days of intensive preliminary rounds under the supervision of the ministerial committee, in a highly competitive academic atmosphere characterized by seriousness, teamwork, and outstanding sportsmanship. The final results were as follows: • Al-Sibtain University for Medical Sciences secured first place. • Al-Mustaqbal University achieved second place. • Wasit University obtained third place. With this achievement, Al-Mustaqbal University ranked first among Iraqi private universities participating in the competition, reflecting its academic excellence and the high level of competence demonstrated by its students, particularly those representing the Artificial Intelligence Department. At the conclusion of the event, the President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, expressed his appreciation to the participating universities, the ministerial committee, and the organizing teams for their efforts in making the competition a distinguished scientific event. He also congratulated the winning teams and praised the remarkable performance and depth of knowledge displayed throughout the competition. He emphasized that hosting such ministerial events aligns with the university’s vision of fostering a stimulating academic environment that promotes innovation, constructive competition, and intellectual development. It also reflects the strategic direction of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in nurturing young talents, enhancing their analytical and cognitive skills, and reinforcing a culture of excellence and creativity within Iraqi universities. The Information Bank Competition remains one of the most prominent national student scientific activities, contributing to the development of positive competitive spirit among university students and strengthening their intellectual and cultural presence, ultimately supporting their academic journey and future professional careers.
