In line with the Sustainable Development Goals, the Department of Medical Biotechnology Techniques organized an awareness campaign entitled “Why Should We Protect the Environment”, under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Saja Jawad Obaid and Lecturer Ahmed Jalal Nima, as part of the department’s awareness activities aimed at promoting environmental awareness among students. The campaign aimed to spread environmental culture and highlight the importance of protecting the environment and natural resources, as well as educating students about proper practices that help reduce pollution and promote positive behaviors supporting environmental sustainability both inside and outside the university campus. The campaign included awareness guidance and simplified scientific discussions focusing on the role of individuals in environmental protection and the importance of community participation in achieving environmental balance, in line with modern universities’ directions toward sustainability and social responsibility. This initiative reflects the Department of Medical Biotechnology Techniques’ commitment to actively contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and enhancing students’ environmental awareness to help build a more responsible and environmentally conscious society.
