The Department of Biology organized a scientific workshop entitled "The Role of Recycling in Reducing Plastic Pollution" on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. The workshop was prepared, organized, and presented by Assistant Lecturer Zainab Nazem Aziz, with the participation of third-year students, aiming to enhance environmental awareness and develop students’ scientific knowledge about the importance of recycling in protecting the environment. The workshop included a presentation that explained the concept of recycling, its mechanisms, and its positive impact on reducing plastic waste accumulation and minimizing environmental pollution. It also highlighted the role of individuals and society in adopting environmentally responsible practices. The workshop focused on educating students about the importance of proper plastic reuse and encouraging them to adopt environmentally friendly behaviors that contribute to environmental protection and sustainability. This workshop is part of the scientific and awareness activities regularly organized by the Department of Biology to develop students’ knowledge and strengthen their role in addressing environmental challenges through awareness and proper scientific practices.
