An educational and awareness activity titled "Medication Awareness Protects Your Health Today and Preserves the Future of Coming Generations" was held on February 25th, organized and presented by: Asst. Lecturer Lubna Ali, Asst. Lecturer Sukaina Talib, Asst. Lecturer Fatima Basim, Asst. Lecturer Zainab Jassim, and researchers Zahraa Basim and Noor Firas. The activity featured an analytical study on the importance of rational drug use and the avoidance of risks associated with self-medication, while exploring ways to enhance pharmaceutical literacy within the community. The participants explored several scientific pillars, most notably proper medication storage methods, the side effects of overusing antibiotics, and awareness strategies regarding drug interactions to ensure patient safety. Additionally, the session highlighted the cognitive tools necessary to empower individuals to make informed health decisions, emphasizing that medication awareness is a fundamental cornerstone in the architecture of a sustainable health system and the protection of community health security. The event concluded with the presentation of methodological recommendations aimed at fostering a culture of safe medication use. This initiative aligns with Goal 3 of the Sustainable Development Goals (Good Health and Well-being), by promoting health prevention and ensuring healthy lives for current and future generations.
