A specialized panel discussion titled "Proper Professional Practices in Medical Physics Laboratories" was held on February 21st, presented by Asst. Lecturer Hamza Abbas and Teaching Assistant Ahmed Abdul Salam. The session featured an analytical study of the professional standards and technical protocols required within medical physics laboratory environments, exploring ways to enhance diagnostic accuracy and ensure the safety of both personnel and equipment.
The discussion explored several scientific pillars, most notably laboratory ethics, strategies for managing radiological and technical risks, and methods for calibrating sensitive medical devices to ensure quality diagnostic outcomes. Additionally, it highlighted the regulatory tools necessary for implementing international quality standards, emphasizing that sound professional practice is a fundamental cornerstone in the architecture of the healthcare sector and advanced scientific research.
The event concluded with the presentation of methodological recommendations aimed at fostering a culture of occupational safety. This initiative aligns with Goal 3 of the Sustainable Development Goals (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), by developing technical performance and ensuring the sustainability of laboratory infrastructure.
