A Practical Session for Second-Year Students in Human Physiology

As part of the Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques’ commitment to strengthening the practical aspect and reinforcing scientific concepts among students, a practical session for second-year students in Human Physiology was held on Saturday, 28/2, in accordance with the department’s approved academic program for the current academic year. The practical lecture was delivered by Dr. Nawras Nouri Mohammed, who began by reviewing the key theoretical concepts related to the topic before transitioning to the laboratory application. The session included a detailed explanation of the physiological mechanisms of certain vital body systems, highlighting the scientific principles upon which related laboratory tests are based and emphasizing their importance in diagnosing and monitoring various medical conditions. The lecture also included the implementation of several practical experiments under the direct supervision of the lecturer. Students applied laboratory procedures according to approved scientific standards, with a strong emphasis on adhering to laboratory safety regulations. The obtained results were discussed and analyzed scientifically, contributing to the development of students’ critical thinking skills and strengthening the connection between theoretical knowledge and practical application. The session witnessed noticeable interaction from the students through questions and scientific discussions, reflecting their eagerness to benefit fully from the practical component and their readiness to assume future responsibilities in the healthcare and laboratory fields. This activity is part of a series of practical lessons and applications that the Department of Medical Laboratory Techniques continuously organizes, reaffirming its commitment to preparing students with solid scientific knowledge and high practical competence, in line with academic quality standards and labor market requirements, and contributing to the graduation of qualified professionals capable of serving the community efficiently and professionally.
