Within the framework of strengthening scientific foundations and enhancing students’ educational development, the Department of Dialysis Kidney Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Techniques – Al-Mustaqbal University organized a scientific field visit to the Diabetes Center at Marjan Teaching Hospital on Thursday, 19/2/2026. The visit was supervised and conducted by Dr. Tuqa Hazem Abdullah Ajrash and Assistant Lecturer Kadhim Hussein Jasim, with the participation of a group of first- and second-year students from the Department of Dialysis Kidney Techniques. The program included direct engagement with patients and attendance at a specialized lecture addressing the impact of diabetes mellitus on kidney health. In addition, the visit involved a comprehensive tour of the hospital laboratories, where students were introduced to the essential laboratory investigations required for diabetic patients and were provided with exposure to modern laboratory equipment and advanced diagnostic technologies. This visit falls within the scope of promoting applied knowledge for students of the Department of Dialysis Kidney Techniques through field-based observation of the mechanisms used in diagnosing and monitoring diabetic patients, as well as fostering a deeper scientific understanding of the relationship between diabetes mellitus and kidney diseases. The department also seeks to enhance students’ practical skills and professional competencies through real-world clinical exposure. This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4: Quality Education, by supporting experiential learning and academic excellence.
