The inauguration coincided with the convening of the seventh session of the University Council for the academic year 2025–2026, chaired by the President of the University and attended by the Council members, including vice presidents and deans. At the outset of the session, the University President extended his congratulations to the Council members—and through them to all faculty members, staff, and students of the University—on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan. He emphasized that the opening of the new Council Hall comes within the framework of a comprehensive strategic vision aimed at upgrading the infrastructure that supports academic and administrative work, in line with institutional accreditation requirements and international standards. In the same context, the University President issued a set of general directives focusing on enhancing the quality of education, supporting scientific research, accelerating digital transformation and clean energy initiatives, expanding academic partnerships locally and internationally, and highlighting the University’s achievements on digital and professional platforms. He also commended the accomplishments of the University’s formations, particularly the College of Pharmacy’s attainment of American accreditation, the Department of Power Mechanics Technologies ranking first programmatically at the national level, as well as the advanced positions achieved by other departments in the national classification. The meeting also included a review of the most prominent scientific activities and events planned for the upcoming period, including scientific conferences and international participations, in addition to following up on institutional and programmatic accreditation requirements and the procedures of colleges and academic departments, as well as reviewing the status of first-semester examinations. At the conclusion of the session, the University Council discussed the items listed on the agenda and adopted the necessary decisions and recommendations, contributing to supporting the University’s progress and affirming its academic standing at both the national and international levels.
