Under the gracious patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and with the direct supervision of the Dean of the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Walaa Louay Al-Falluji, the College of Medicine organized a scientific workshop entitled: “The Blueprint in the Curriculum and Its Impact on Ensuring the Quality of Academic Assessment.” The workshop addressed one of the key topics related to academic accreditation. It was delivered by Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Kadhim, a faculty member at the College of Medicine, University of Babylon, and a member of the National Council for the Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq. The workshop aimed to highlight the importance of preparing the examination blueprint (Table of Specifications) as a scientific tool that ensures fairness and balance in the distribution of examination questions, in alignment with curriculum content, learning outcomes, and the cognitive levels of Bloom’s taxonomy. The workshop covered the following key themes: The concept of the Blueprint and the principles of its construction Mechanisms for linking educational objectives with learning outcomes Distribution of relative weights for curriculum topics The role of the Blueprint in achieving quality standards and academic accreditation Practical applications in courses of the College of Medicine The workshop was attended by a number of faculty members, during which an in-depth scientific discussion took place on mechanisms for developing assessment tools in a way that enhances the quality of the educational process and keeps pace with international academic standards. At the conclusion of the workshop, Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Kadhim was honored in appreciation of his role in delivering the workshop. The College Deanship also affirmed its continued commitment to organizing scientific activities that contribute to the development of academic performance and the advancement of medical education.
