Workshop on Professional Engineering Report Writing Held at the Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering Technologies

The Department of Fuel and Energy Engineering Techniques organized a training workshop entitled “Professional Engineering Report Writing Skills”, delivered and supervised by Lecturer Asst. Inst. Shahad Mahmoud Mohammed. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ skills in preparing and drafting engineering reports in accordance with approved academic and professional standards, with a focus on scientific organization, accuracy in data presentation, and systematic analysis and discussion of results. It also addressed common mistakes in report writing and how to avoid them, in addition to explaining the essential components of a professional engineering report, starting from the title page through to conclusions and references. The workshop witnessed active student engagement, as practical examples and applied exercises were presented to strengthen their understanding of report-writing requirements in the fields of fuel and energy, in alignment with labor market and scientific research demands. This workshop aligns with the vision of the United Nations and supports the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing academic and research competencies, Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) by strengthening scientific documentation practices in fuel and energy fields, and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) by developing professional and research capabilities of future engineering professionals. The workshop is part of a series of departmental activities aimed at improving students’ academic and professional efficiency and strengthening their practical engineering skills in support of sustainable development and community service.
