The Forensic Evidence Department, in collaboration with the Community Police Division, organized an awareness workshop titled “Violence Against Women,” as part of the college’s efforts to enhance community awareness and promote a culture of protection and support for vulnerable groups. The workshop addressed multiple themes related to gender-based violence, its psychological, social, and legal impacts, and highlighted the available procedures to protect women, as well as reporting mechanisms and support services provided by the competent authorities. The workshop also emphasized the importance of linking the issue of violence against women to the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 5 on Gender Equality and Goal 16 on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, given their pivotal role in promoting stability and building a safe society that respects human rights. During the workshop, interactive discussions were held between students and lecturers, contributing to a deeper understanding of the topic and fostering greater human rights awareness among youth.
