A scientific seminar titled “The Role of Women in Medical Scientific Research” was held on Tuesday, 17/2/2026, with the participation of Asst. Lect. Huda Nazzal Hussein and Lecturer Waqar Jaffat Jassim, while the seminar was delivered by Asst. Lect. Riam Thaer Ahmed. The event aimed to highlight women’s contributions to the medical and research fields.
The seminar addressed the significant role women play in advancing medical scientific research, improving healthcare quality, and fostering innovation in preventive and therapeutic practices. It also discussed the challenges faced by female researchers and the importance of empowering them academically and professionally.
Furthermore, the seminar emphasized aligning its themes with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 5 (Gender Equality), given their central role in strengthening health systems and ensuring equal opportunities in scientific research.
The seminar witnessed active engagement from attendees, contributing to enriching discussions and promoting greater awareness of the importance of supporting and empowering women in scientific and medical fields.
