The Department of Forensic Evidence Organizes a Scientific Workshop on Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy

The Department of Forensic Evidence at the College of Science – Al-Mustaqbal University organized a scientific workshop entitled: “Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS): Principles and Applications.” The workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Sami Abdul Hussein Habbana, a specialist in the field of spectroscopy and laser techniques. The event was attended by the Dean of the College of Science, along with several faculty members and students of the department. The presentation included a detailed explanation of the working principle of LIBS technology and its prospects for use in forensic sample analysis and the identification of chemical elements in various materials. The workshop aimed to enhance the knowledge of students and academic staff regarding the latest technologies used in forensic analysis, with a focus on the importance of this technique in detecting precise forensic evidence without damaging the samples. At the conclusion of the workshop, the floor was opened for discussion and questions. The attendees praised the distinguished scientific presentation and emphasized the importance of continuing to hold such activities, which contribute to raising the academic and practical level of the department.
