Al-Mustaqbal University Strengthens Its National Partnerships by Signing a Scientific and Academic Memorandum of Understanding with Al-Nahrain University

As part of its ongoing efforts to expand areas of scientific and academic cooperation and strengthen institutional partnerships, Al-Mustaqbal University signed a joint Memorandum of Understanding with Al-Nahrain University, in alignment with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and in embodiment of the University Presidency’s vision to support integration between public and private universities and promote the exchange of academic expertise. The memorandum was signed during an official visit by a delegation from Al-Mustaqbal University headed by the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi. The delegation included the Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision, Professor Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairi; the Educational Advisor, Professor Dr. Mohsen Abdul Ali; and the Director of Cultural Relations, Dr. Samir Badrawi. The delegation was received by the President of Al-Nahrain University, Professor Dr. Ali Abdulaziz Al-Shawi, along with the Assistant Presidents and a number of College Deans. The meeting witnessed discussions on prospects for joint scientific and research cooperation between the two sides. The discussions focused on activating collaboration between corresponding colleges and research centers at both universities, contributing to the advancement of joint scientific research and the integration of academic programs. The visit also included the presentation of two documentary films: the first highlighted Al-Mustaqbal University’s institutional journey and achievements, while the second shed light on Al-Mustaqbal Teaching Hospital and its role in supporting education, training, and community service. The Memorandum of Understanding includes several key areas, most notably conducting joint scientific research, participating in conferences, seminars, and workshops, exchanging academic visits, co-supervising postgraduate students, developing faculty capacities, organizing summer training programs for students, and updating curricula—thereby enhancing the quality of higher education and achieving sustainable scientific and developmental impact. Al-Mustaqbal University is the first university in Iraq.
