Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a remarkable academic milestone by ranking first among private universities in Iraq and securing sixth place out of 76 public and private Iraqi universities listed in the 2026 edition of the SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR). This accomplishment reflects the University’s accelerated progress in academic and research performance and reinforces its position within the national and international higher education landscape. The SCImago ranking is widely recognized as one of the leading global evaluation systems for universities and research institutions. It assesses performance based on objective indicators, including research output, innovation, and societal impact, relying on reputable international scientific databases. At the subject level, Al-Mustaqbal University demonstrated outstanding performance, achieving advanced positions among Iraqi universities as follows: Mechanical Engineering: 1st in Iraq Building and Construction Engineering: 1st in Iraq Business Administration and Accounting: 2nd in Iraq On this occasion, the University President, Professor Hassan Shaker Majdi, stated that this achievement is the result of sustained institutional efforts to support scientific research, promote publication in reputable journals, and develop an academic environment aligned with international standards.
