The Department of Artificial Intelligence Engineering Technologies at Al-Mustaqbal University, the first among private universities in Iraq, organized an introductory ceremony for first-year students on January 14, 2026, at the Student Activities Hall. The event was held under the patronage of the respected President of Al-Mustaqbal University, in the presence of the Dean of the Engineering Technical College, Prof. Dr. Azhar Abdul-Mohsen, and under the direct supervision and follow-up of the Head of the Artificial Intelligence Engineering Technologies Department, Dr. Zahraa Hashim Karim, with the participation of a distinguished group of faculty members and students of the department. The event aimed to strengthen bonds among students and promote a spirit of belonging and teamwork within the university environment. The ceremony began with an opening presented by the student Hassan Ali Hassoun, followed by a recitation from the Holy Qur’an and a welcoming speech delivered by the student Ali Saleh. Attendees then stood for the Iraqi national anthem, reinforcing the values of citizenship and pride in national identity. Afterwards, the Dean delivered an insightful speech emphasizing the importance of the artificial intelligence specialization and its role in building a promising scientific and technological future, praising the efforts of the department leadership and its academic staff in supporting students and providing an integrated educational environment. The program included an introductory video about the department designed by the student Wahab Abdul-Ridha with voice narration by Hassan Ali Hassoun, highlighting the department’s vision and achievements. The student Hussein Bashar also presented a distinguished presentation on the department’s visual identity, explaining its academic significance. In addition, the student Mohammed رضا and the student Zainab Ahmed performed an English dialogue reflecting the department’s commitment to developing students’ linguistic and communication skills. The student Mohammed رضا also introduced the department’s official website and the services it provides to students. The event also featured an artistic display of paintings presented by the student Abdullah along with a group of first-year students, expressing their creative talents. Furthermore, the student Zaina delivered a presentation showcasing images of the department’s most distinguished and creative students. The ceremony concluded with an inspiring story delivered by the student Sara Ali, carrying meaningful messages about ambition, perseverance, and the pursuit of success. This initiative reflects the commitment of the Artificial Intelligence Engineering Technologies Department at Al-Mustaqbal University to support new students and create a motivating educational environment that encourages interaction and collaboration among them. It also contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), in line with the university’s vision of preparing a creative technological generation capable of keeping pace with technological advancement and driving positive change in society.
