(Al-Mustaqbal University) has achieved a remarkable academic milestone by ranking first among private universities in Iraq and sixth out of 76 public and private Iraqi universities included in the 2026 results of SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR). This accomplishment reflects the University’s rapid progress in academic and research performance and its growing standing within the higher education sector. The ranking is based on rigorous and objective criteria that measure research productivity and quality, innovation output, and societal impact, relying on reputable international scientific databases. Al-Mustaqbal University’s advancement highlights its sustained efforts in supporting scientific research, promoting high-quality academic publishing, and fostering a comprehensive and excellence-driven educational environment aligned with international standards. At the disciplinary level, the University demonstrated outstanding performance among Iraqi universities. It ranked first in Mechanical Engineering and first in Construction and Building Engineering, while securing second place in Business Administration and Accounting. These results emphasize the University’s strength in applied and administrative fields that directly respond to labor market demands. On this occasion, the University President, Professor Hassan Shakir Majdi, stated that this achievement represents the outcome of continuous institutional work focused on advancing research excellence, enhancing academic quality, and developing faculty capabilities.
