Mustaqbal University has achieved a distinguished academic milestone by ranking first among private universities in Iraq and sixth nationwide among 76 public and private Iraqi universities, according to the SCImago Institutions Rankings 2026 results. This remarkable progress reflects the university’s accelerated advancement in academic and research performance and consolidates its leading position within the higher education system. The SCImago ranking is considered one of the most prominent internationally recognized classifications for evaluating universities and research institutions. It is based on objective criteria that include research output, innovation, and societal impact, drawing on reputable global scientific databases. At the level of academic disciplines and subject areas, the university achieved a notable presence by securing advanced positions among Iraqi universities, as follows: Mechanical Engineering: First place Building and Construction Engineering: First place Business Administration and Accounting: Second place In this context, the President of the University, Hassan Shaker Majdi, affirmed that this achievement is the outcome of sustained institutional efforts focused on supporting scientific research, strengthening high-quality academic publishing, and developing the educational environment.
