Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a remarkable academic milestone by ranking first among private universities in Iraq and sixth out of 76 public and private Iraqi universities included in the SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) 2026. This accomplishment clearly reflects the university’s rapid progress in academic and research performance and reinforces its position within the higher education landscape. The SCImago ranking is considered one of the most prominent international rankings, evaluating the performance of universities and research institutions based on objective criteria, including research output, innovation, and societal impact, relying on reputable global scientific databases. At the level of academic disciplines and subject areas, the university demonstrated outstanding performance, achieving advanced positions among Iraqi universities as follows: Mechanical Engineering: First place Building and Construction Engineering: First place Business Administration and Accounting: Second place In this regard, the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, stated that this achievement reflects the outcome of sustained institutional efforts in supporting scientific research, enhancing reputable publications, and developing the academic environment.
