The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into biology represents a qualitative leap that has shifted scientific research from traditional laboratories to high-speed digital simulations. This technology relies on Deep Learning algorithms to analyze the massive amounts of data (Big Data) generated by genome sequencing. One of the greatest achievements is the "AlphaFold" system, which solved the "Protein Folding" challenge—determining the 3D shape of a protein based on its amino acids, opening the door to understanding the functions of thousands of unknown proteins. In the field of Drug Discovery, AI reduces research time from years to days by scanning millions of chemical compounds and selecting the most suitable ones to fight viruses or cancer cells. It also contributes to "Precision Medicine," which designs treatment plans for each patient based on their unique genetic makeup, increasing recovery chances and reducing side effects. Furthermore, AI helps in monitoring ecosystems and predicting the impact of climate change on biodiversity. This synergy between programming and life sciences paves the way for a future free of incurable diseases, thanks to the ability to predict illnesses before they occur and design synthetic proteins with specific tasks.
