Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a remarkable academic accomplishment by ranking first among private universities in Iraq and sixth out of 76 Iraqi public and private universities included in the ranking. This came according to the results of the SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) 2026, reflecting the university’s rapid progress in academic and research performance and reinforcing its position within the higher education system. The SCImago ranking is considered one of the most prominent international rankings that evaluates the performance of universities and research institutions based on objective criteria, including research productivity, innovation, and societal impact, relying on reputable global scientific databases. At the level of academic disciplines and research fields, the university achieved distinguished positions among Iraqi universities as follows: • Mechanical Engineering: 1st place • Construction and Building Engineering: 1st place • Business Administration and Accounting: 2nd place For his part, the President of the University, Hassan Shaker Majdi, stated that this achievement reflects the outcome of continuous institutional efforts to support scientific research, promote reputable academic publishing, and develop the academic environment. He also noted that the university is continuing its strategy to enhance its standing in global rankings and strengthen its presence among leading universities at both the regional and international levels.
