The educational process is considered one of the most important pillars upon which the progress of societies depends, as it contributes to preparing individuals cognitively and skillfully to meet the requirements of contemporary life. With the rapid development of knowledge and technology, traditional teaching methods based on memorization and rote learning are no longer sufficient to achieve effective learning. Instead, there is a growing need to adopt modern teaching methods that place the student at the center of the educational process and work to enhance their motivation to learn. Modern teaching methods refer to a set of educational approaches and strategies that aim to activate the learner’s role in acquiring knowledge through active participation, thinking, analysis, and exploration. Among the most prominent of these methods are cooperative learning, problem-based learning, discovery learning, and project-based learning, in addition to employing technology and multimedia in education. These methods are characterized by their focus on interaction between the teacher and students, encouraging teamwork, and developing critical and creative thinking skills. Learning motivation is one of the fundamental factors influencing the success of the educational process. It represents the internal force that drives students to learn and persevere in achieving their goals. When students feel involved and engaged in the lesson, their desire to learn increases and they become more willing to exert effort and acquire knowledge. Here, the important role of modern teaching methods becomes evident in enhancing this motivation, as they provide a stimulating learning environment that encourages students to participate and interact. Adopting modern educational strategies contributes to making lessons more engaging and enjoyable, transforming the student from a passive recipient of information into an active participant in constructing knowledge. For example, cooperative learning helps develop a spirit of collaboration and responsibility among students, while problem-based learning provides students with the opportunity to think, analyze, and search for practical solutions. Additionally, the use of modern technological tools helps attract students’ attention and makes learning clearer and more interactive. Moreover, modern teaching methods contribute to developing students’ self-confidence and their ability to express their ideas and opinions, which enhances their sense of achievement and success. They also take into account individual differences among students, giving each student the opportunity to learn according to their abilities and interests, which positively reflects on their academic achievement. In light of this, it can be said that adopting modern teaching methods represents an important step toward developing the educational process and achieving effective and sustainable learning. The more the educational environment is based on interaction, participation, and exploration, the greater students’ motivation to learn and the better their academic performance.
