Coinciding with World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development, the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering organized an awareness campaign titled: “Engineering Shapes the Future.” The campaign was supervised by Assoc. Prof. Firas Thaer Raouf, with the participation of Assistant Lecturer Maryam Ghassan Ghaffar and Engineer Aya Talib Hassan. It aimed to highlight the significant role of engineering in building advanced societies and achieving sustainable development through innovation and technological progress. The campaign included awareness activities about the importance of engineering disciplines in developing technological solutions that serve various sectors, particularly in medical and biomedical engineering fields that contribute to improving human quality of life. It also emphasized the importance of encouraging students to adopt innovative thinking and utilize scientific knowledge to develop modern technologies that support scientific progress and serve society. The campaign is part of the department’s ongoing initiatives to promote a culture of engineering innovation and to encourage students and researchers to contribute to building a knowledge-based and technology-driven future.
