President of Al-Mustaqbal University Participates in the Sixth Session of the Private Education Council As part of efforts to strengthen and develop higher education, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, a member of the Private Education Council, participated in the sixth session of the Private Education Council. The session was held on March 4, 2026, at Al-Zahraa University (A.S.) in the city of Karbala, under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahad, Deputy Minister of Higher Education for Scientific Research Affairs. The meeting was attended by a number of directors-general and senior staff members of the Ministry, in addition to several presidents of private universities in Iraq. The session highlighted discussions on several important topics related to admission and registration procedures in private universities, where mechanisms and systems required to ensure the smooth implementation of these processes were addressed. The meeting also discussed the establishment of new medical colleges and the importance of providing a competitive educational environment that aligns with international standards. Another key topic addressed during the meeting was taxation and university requirements that must be considered to ensure the success of the educational process. The meeting also commended the tangible scientific achievements made by private universities, which contribute to the development of higher education in Iraq. This meeting represents an important step toward strengthening coordination between private universities and the Ministry, helping to improve the quality of education and provide better opportunities for students.
