The College of Fine Arts at the University of the Future organized an educational workshop titled “Art and Women Empowerment: Creativity on International Women’s Day” on March 8, 2026, with the participation of the college students. The workshop was delivered by Lecturer M.M. Hussein Lotfi Hussein and programmer Sarah Faiq Ali.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the role of women in society and the arts, highlight inspiring success stories of Iraqi and international women, and encourage students to express equality and empowerment through art. It also emphasized the importance of art as a means of expression and creativity, linking the activity to one of the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 5: Gender Equality.
During the workshop, a number of inspiring success stories of women were presented, including the world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid and the Iraqi artist Huda Al-Sammak, in addition to local and international women-led initiatives, to inspire students and open new horizons for creativity and initiative.
