Scientific Article: Artificial Intelligence and Sentiment Analysis (Asst. Lec. Aya Mohammed Hussein Mohammed Ali) Sentiment analysis is one of the most significant applications of artificial intelligence and natural language processing, as it focuses on analyzing digital texts to identify the emotions, opinions, and attitudes expressed by individuals across social media platforms, online reviews, surveys, and various digital communication channels. In the era of big data, organizations and institutions increasingly rely on sentiment analysis technologies to understand customer behavior, evaluate public opinion, and improve decision-making processes. These systems typically use machine learning and deep learning algorithms capable of automatically classifying textual data into positive, negative, or neutral sentiments by analyzing linguistic patterns, contextual relationships between words, and semantic structures within sentences. Recent advances in artificial intelligence, particularly transformer-based language models, have significantly improved the accuracy and efficiency of sentiment analysis systems, enabling them to process large volumes of textual information across multiple languages and contexts. Sentiment analysis has become widely applied in several fields including digital marketing, brand reputation management, customer feedback analysis, political opinion monitoring, and social media analytics. Additionally, researchers have explored its potential applications in healthcare by analyzing textual data to detect emotional states and mental health indicators from online communications. Despite its many benefits, sentiment analysis still faces several challenges such as interpreting sarcasm, cultural expressions, ambiguous language, and maintaining data privacy and ethical standards. Therefore, the continued development of sentiment analysis technologies requires not only technical innovation but also responsible data governance and ethical considerations to ensure the protection of user information. Ultimately, artificial intelligence-driven sentiment analysis plays an increasingly important role in understanding human communication patterns and supporting data-driven decision making in modern digital societies.
