The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, a member of the Private Higher Education Council, participated in the sixth session of the Private Higher Education Council, which was held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Al-Zahraa University (PBUH) in the city of Karbala. The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Dhahd, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Affairs, in the presence of a number of directors general and senior staff from the ministry, as well as several presidents of private universities in Iraq. During the session, several important topics related to the development of higher education in private universities were discussed, including admission and registration procedures and the mechanisms required to ensure the smooth implementation of these processes. The meeting also addressed the establishment of medical colleges and the importance of providing a competitive educational environment that aligns with international academic standards. In addition, the session reviewed a number of administrative and regulatory matters related to the work of private universities, including legal and tax requirements that contribute to supporting the stability of the educational process and enhancing the quality of academic outcomes. Participants emphasized the important role played by private universities in supporting the development of higher education in Iraq and praised the scientific and academic achievements they have accomplished in recent years. Such meetings represent an important platform for strengthening cooperation and coordination between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and private universities, contributing to the development of the university education system and enhancing its quality in line with the requirements of modern global universities.
