The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, member of the Private Education Council, participated in the sixth session of the council, which was held on 4 March 2026 at Al-Zahraa University in Karbala Governorate, under the chairmanship of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Affairs, and in the presence of a number of ministry officials and presidents of private universities in Iraq. The session discussed admission and registration mechanisms in private universities, in addition to the establishment of medical colleges, and ways to provide an educational environment that complies with international academic standards and enhances the competitiveness of educational institutions, as well as issues related to taxation and requirements for developing university work. The participants emphasized the importance of continuing coordination between universities and the Ministry of Higher Education to contribute to improving the quality of higher education in Iraq and achieving the desired academic progress.
