Cancer is considered one of the most serious diseases affecting human health in modern times and remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide. However, recent years have witnessed remarkable scientific progress in cancer treatment, significantly improving survival rates and treatment outcomes for patients. One of the most important breakthroughs is immunotherapy, which works by stimulating the body's immune system to recognize and attack cancer cells. This therapy has shown promising results in treating several types of cancer, including lung cancer and melanoma. Gene therapy has also made significant progress, as advanced techniques are now used to modify genetic material within cells to destroy cancer cells or prevent their growth. These innovative approaches hold great promise for future cancer treatments. Additionally, radiation therapy has become more precise with the use of advanced technologies that allow doctors to target tumors accurately while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues. Targeted therapy has also emerged as an important treatment strategy that focuses on specific molecules involved in cancer cell growth. Advancements in early detection technologies have further improved treatment outcomes by enabling the diagnosis of cancer at earlier stages, before it spreads to other parts of the body. In conclusion, modern advances in cancer treatment represent a major step toward improving patient survival and quality of life. Nevertheless, continued research is essential to develop more effective and safer treatment options. "AL_mustaqbal University is the first university in Iraq"
