With great pride, Al-Mustaqbal University announces the selection of Professor Dr. Salwan Obaid Waheed, Director of the Energy Research Center at the university, to serve as an international judge in the prestigious awards of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. These awards are among the most prominent global initiatives dedicated to promoting sustainability in higher education and are considered a leading reference that guides universities toward greener and more sustainable practices. This selection comes within the judging committee category, one of the four main pillars of the association, which focuses on overall impact, innovation, and stakeholder engagement. The appointment represents an important international recognition of the academic standing and research expertise of the Energy Research Center at the university. Reaffirming its leadership in sustainability initiatives, Al-Mustaqbal University is proud to be the only Iraqi university officially registered in this global association among all universities in Iraq. Through this membership, the university joins a distinguished network of nearly 1,280 universities worldwide, including renowned institutions such as Princeton University.
