On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering organized an awareness and educational activity titled:
“The Role of Women in Community Development.”
The activity was prepared and presented by **Assistant Lecturer Hala Muhannad Ismail Haqi**, with the participation of **Assistant Lecturer Maryam Ghassan Ghaffar** and **Engineer Aya Talib Hasan**, and witnessed active engagement from the department’s students.
The activity aimed to highlight the vital role of women in building and developing society across various scientific and practical fields, in addition to raising awareness about the importance of empowering women and supporting their active participation in community development.
It also sought to encourage students to appreciate the role of women and respect their achievements and contributions to serving society, while promoting a culture of equality, recognition, and respect for their work, creativity, and dedication.
This initiative reaffirms the position of women as essential partners in the process of development and progress, and their active role in shaping future generations and building a better society.
