Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, the respected President of Al-Mustaqbal University, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Health and Medical Techniques / Department of Dialysis Kidney Techniques organized a workshop entitled “International Women’s Day” on Sunday, 8 March 2026. This event was held in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 5: Gender Equality.
The workshop, delivered by Dr. Tuqa Hazim Abdullah and Assistant Lecturer Tabarak Ahmed Turki Al-Azzawi, addressed the concept of International Women’s Day and highlighted its significance in showcasing women’s achievements and their active role in various fields of life. The session also emphasized the importance of supporting women’s rights and strengthening their position within society. The workshop was attended by a number of students and staff members of the college.
The workshop aimed to enhance students’ awareness of the importance of women’s empowerment and respect for women’s rights, while reaffirming their essential role in building society and achieving sustainable development.
The workshop concluded with recommendations stressing the necessity of promoting a culture of respect for women and supporting their participation in various scientific and societal fields, as well as raising awareness about the importance of protecting women from all forms of violence.
