Under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Agricultural Technologies, the college organized a scientific workshop entitled “Chemical Safety in Scientific Laboratories.” The workshop was held on Monday, March 9, 2026, in the Student Activities Hall at Al-Mustaqbal University. As part of activating the Memorandum of Understanding with Al-Qasim Green University, the workshop witnessed the participation of Prof. Dr. Ihab Karim Obeid. The workshop commenced with a speech on behalf of the University President, delivered by the Academic Supervisor, Prof. Dr. Muzaffar Al-Zuhairi, who emphasized the importance of promoting chemical safety concepts in scientific laboratories due to their essential role in protecting staff and students and ensuring a safe educational and research environment. The workshop included scientific lectures delivered by Prof. Dr. Ihab Karim Obeid and Assistant Professor Dr. Sadiq Jaafar Baqir. The lectures addressed the principles of chemical safety, safe handling of chemical substances in laboratories, and the preventive procedures required to reduce laboratory risks and accidents. This workshop comes within the efforts of Al-Mustaqbal University to enhance scientific awareness among students and researchers and to emphasize the importance of adhering to occupational safety procedures in educational and research laboratories.
