Al-Mustaqbal University has achieved a remarkable academic milestone by ranking first among private universities in Iraq and sixth overall out of 76 public and private Iraqi universities listed in the SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) for 2026. This reflects the university’s rapid advancement in academic and research performance and its strengthened position within the higher education system. The SCImago ranking is one of the most prominent international classifications, evaluating the performance of universities and research institutions based on objective criteria, including research output, innovation, and societal impact, relying on reputable global scientific databases. In terms of disciplines and scientific subjects, the university demonstrated outstanding performance, achieving high rankings among Iraqi universities as follows: Mechanical Engineering: 1st place Civil and Construction Engineering: 1st place Business Administration and Accounting: 2nd place University President, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, emphasized that this achievement reflects the results of continuous institutional efforts to support scientific research, promote high-quality publications, and develop the academic environment.
